Meshing

Omnia has the resources, software tools and know how to create a CFD-mesh for every geometry you can image. The largest mesh ever created consisted over 250 Million elements.

Most meshes are generated using ANSYS Workbench Mesher or ANSYS ICEM CFD. With the latter package, mesh export to almost all flow solvers is possible. The mesh is mostly unstructured and consists Tetrahedral, Prismatic and/or heaxahedral elements. As an example, a mesh on a shaver cap is given below.

Structured hex meshes can be constructed for specific applications where this is really necessary. An example could be the leak flow through small gaps (10 micron) in seals, for which an example is given below.
